Simple Joys

In a season of mothering young children

The sun warming my skin
followed by a gentle breeze

The squirms, rolls, and kicks
of my daughter dancing 
in my womb

A hot steamy bath
and a good book

Watching steam dance 
off my morning coffee
from the comfort of my warm bed
in the glow of the rising sun

Squeals of delight 
as my sons reach
new heights on the swing

The way my oldest greets
loved ones with
a sprinting bear hug
and snuggles his sister in my belly each night

The joy a large box and 
a flashlight offers two young boys
